Buster, on the Home Page it tells you that Girvan are members of the SFA and this allows entry to the Scottish Cup
| weeksider | 03 October 2009 18:32:13 |
Wick Academy FC fans will be down in force when the teams meet in the Scottish Cup match later in the month

Hi, im from Musselburgh. Could someone let me know how Girvan Qualified for the Scottish Cup. I say it was through some Super Cup but im not sure. Cheers and good luck in the 2nd round.
| john leavy | 01 September 2009 21:58:10 |
i can confirm stuart trained on monday night and will also train on wednesday night following a phone call from brian
| Stuarty | 01 September 2009 18:19:28 |
Lets hope scagman's sources are rite and this issue has been resolved. Its good to see the site being used at last but maybe for the wrong reason's . if the club need some help with the running of the site drop me a comment and I will see what I can do. C'mon the seasiders.
| scagman | 31 August 2009 21:19:16 |
my sources that i heard from today told me that Stuart has been contacted by the club and he was going to attend training tonight(mon).I for one hopes he goes tonight and everything gets back to norm for the players sake and the club
| john leavy | 31 August 2009 19:58:20 |
reinhart...... i agree wholeheartedly with your posting ,and if someone would actually speak to stuart and ask him to come back we would at least have a starting point.stuart never at any point wanted to leave girvan but felt he had been left in a difficult situation and did not feel wanted by the club
| gibby | 31 August 2009 11:14:40 |
Agree with stuarty. This issue should be resolved for the sake of the team.Everybody tha attends games at Hamilton Park should know that the "moaning supporter" is the same everywhere he goes and is more to be pitied than laughed at so come on all Girvan supporters lets get behind Brian and the team.
| Stuarty | 30 August 2009 20:47:00 |
I agree this issue needs to be put to bed , yes Allan as been at fault in the games and I am sure he will be the first to admit this ,
| BringBacLeavy | 30 August 2009 18:38:20 |
We real supporters do support the team .
| Reinhart | 29 August 2009 21:05:16 |
Firstly I would like to say that all Fans, Family and Players need to stop squabbling over the net.
| john leavy | 29 August 2009 05:58:40 |
allan.. i tend not to find to much about football laughable as you put it .i take it quite serious.certainly dont require a lift from you as i managed perfectly well to get there all last season, although i appreciate brians seat will be available often enough. dont see a posting from stuart about you on the site and dont see why you felt the need to have a dig at him very unprofessional having a go at a team mate. these sites are for fans to debate their clubs issues and stating opinions you have now made it personal, and as for wanting a chat after the game would it be along the same lines as the discussion you had with a female girvan supporter after the whitletts game???????? thats what i call one almighty spitting of the dummy and again very unprofessional on youre part. i wonder if it had been a male supporter would it have got the same reaction ?????????i think its now time to put this to bed
| jeeves | 27 August 2009 23:40:31 |
real fans go to games home and away ,pay to get in buy a programme, raffle tickets and spend money at club shops all of the above i do and have done as a supporter of junior football for the past 40 years.forums ,guestbooks whatever you want to call them are relatively new to the junior game and as a junior supporter visit most ayrshire junior sites and others on a regular basis .these forums are all about opinions ,nothing personal as most supporters of football see games from a different perspective only adds to the debate about how the game was ,players management and officials alike .i have only stated my opinion on current developments at girvan which i have a right to do .if someone doesnt agree then they post their opinion simple.however very very seldom on any of the other sites have players ever got involved in discussions.i wish girvan all the best for the coming season.but like most supporters of the club did not think the goalkeeping position was an issue based on previous seasons performances and results.however my earlier comment about being told to go and play ardagh cup games with maybole spoke volumes for leavys future at girvan which i found very disappointing as a supporter of the club
| MEGAN LEAVY | 27 August 2009 21:12:54 |
your laughable MATE. your a pish excuse for a keeper. i hope stuart goes back for 'a battle for the jersey'. you would have to spend the full game behind the goals doing your sit ups. not a match if im perfectly honest. the 3-1 game, yeah stuart had a bad game. thats one compared to your five. get a grip. promotion? dream on. & stuart left hurlford so thats how you got number one.
| Allan Smith | 27 August 2009 09:26:10 |
I find this all quite laughable. Jeeves get your facts right. I travel from Glasgow so majority of games I travel down myself. If you want I'll give you a lift to next game and you can check ma car for Brian. Other times I meet Brian and other boys in team at half way point to cut expenses for team.
| :-) | 26 August 2009 17:36:29 |
would you have turned up to the football 2nd choice to a keeper thats been relegated previous 2 seasons when you know that you have hardly put a foot wrong last season? doubt it very much. get your facts right. if you wanna go ahead with your new superstar keeper then good luck. girvan will be close for relegation :-)
| jeeves | 26 August 2009 15:40:55 |
ss you should get your facts correct before you shoot your mouth off about so called girvan supporters getting behind the team leavy is the better keeper by some way it has been ther for all to see unless your stevie wonder and about his attitude he was told by the manager to go and play ardagh cup games with maybole i would have thought that was an obvious statement from the manager who he wants to play in goals if you get a phone call 2 hours before the game to say you are not playing would you go to the game brian obviously doesnt want him so why should he travel from mauchline to sit on the bench to an inferior keeper .alan travels with brian enough said hope you reply kwow you know some of the facts
| leavy | 26 August 2009 12:41:56 |
Who do you think you are SS? show your real name if youve got an opinion to share? What do you know about anything thats happened?
| SS | 24 August 2009 09:37:30 |
Would this be the same Leavy who doesn't bother turning up to games, training and generally has a bad attitude? Aye, thats really the type of dedicated goalie we want at Girvan! Typical fans, on the backs of players after how many games played so far??
| BringBacLeavy | 15 August 2009 17:45:04 |

In preparation for the production of the cumnock juniors programme for the coming season I am currently trying to bring together a list of the squads for the 14 teams in the Super League First Division. The aim is to set up a mailing list so that after the initial task updates of signings and departures for each club can be intimated to everyone. I had a look on your web-site but there is no email address to contact the web-master so can someone provide me with the email address of the webmaster so I can add them to the list.

Various websites say that the club was founded in 1947, but my book of Scottish Cup records says that Girvan played in the first round of the Scottish Cup in 1938/39, losing 4-1 at Duns. Which club was this?
| Forres Lad | 19 October 2007 00:00:00 |
Has anyone got copies of the Girvan versus Forres match programme for sale?
| Arthur Dey | 01 June 2006 00:00:00 |
I can remember playing for the Amateurs against Queens Park round about 1960/61 when the referee stopped the game in the second half, pulled all the players to the centre circle and said "At the next foul you are all being sent off". Queens Park were the dirtiest side I ever played against, mind you we were not much better. I think Andy Blackwood captained the side.
| Arthur Dey | 01 June 2006 00:00:00 |
The greatest player I ever saw at Hamilton Park was Dennis Law and he just got off the bus and did not play in a warm upgame for Scotland V Germany in 1959. Andy Kerr of Kilmarnock was the centre but he got injured in the warm up and Ian St John of Motherwell took his place. By the way Scotland won 3.-2 and this was Uwe Seelers first In ternational.
